Bushfires in Victoria
Victoria is currently experiencing bushfires that are affecting entire communities. We know that many people in our own community feel a great need to help in any way that they can.

We have received a significant increase in members of our community reaching out to us and expressing their desire to help. Whilst this is heartwarming, we are unfortunately unable to take on spontaneous volunteers as our members must complete significant training before they are deployed to assist with operations.

Whilst we are happy to keep you informed of our next recruitment drive, Broadmeadows SES is unable to take on new members for the current situation as our resources are being utilised elsewhere. We thank our community for your support but regrettably must encourage you to look for other opportunities to help the affected communities across Victoria.

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) works to ensure the safety of Victorian communities by responding to emergencies and disasters across the state.

The Broadmeadows Unit is committed to developing and strengthening community partnerships across the City of Hume and City of Moreland.

As the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide in Victoria, VICSES manages the response to these emergencies and helping communities to prepare through planning and education. We also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations and play an important support role during major bushfire responses.
